Who regulates robo-advisory in Saudi Arabia?

The Saudi Capital Market Authority (CMA) is the relevant regulator when the robo-advisory service constitutes a securities or investment activity. The CMA’s FinTech Lab has specifically included robo-advisory among securities-sector fintech use cases.

Automation does not move investment advice into SAMA’s payments perimeter. The regulated activity remains capital-markets activity even when an algorithm generates the recommendation.

If the product also provides payments, banking or financing features, those separate functions may engage SAMA as well.
