Who regulates fintech companies in Jordan?

The regulator depends on the financial activity, but the Central Bank of Jordan is the core regulator for banking, payments and money-transfer fintech and operates Jordan’s fintech regulatory sandbox. Other financial activities can fall under their own sector regulators.

There is no single licence called a “fintech licence.” The product should be classified by the underlying service it performs.

For payment, wallet and open-banking models, CBJ is the starting regulatory authority.

Regulator: Central Bank of Jordan (CBJ) / other sector regulator as applicable

Primary sources: Central Bank of Jordan — Payment Systems Legislations

Directional — not legal advice. Verify with the regulator before committing.
